This book pulled me in from the first page.
We are introduced to Mildred Dunlap, who lives in a small Nevada town in 1895. She is not popular among the townfolk. As the story progresses, we see just what kind of prejudices and hatred Mildred encounters on a daily basis.
I really enjoyed this book. The author did a fabulous job of showing emotions through her words. I felt all the tension, heartache and loneliness that were portrayed, as well as the happiness and true love.
I would recommend this book to anyone that feels comfortable reading about controverisial subject.
The author hit the history in this book spot on.
I will definitely be reading more of Paulette Mahurin’s books as they come out.
