Meme’s Piano Bar #2

Oh I love this and yeah, I teared up. Me and the wagging tails thank you so much, meme. 🙂

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap

The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing. Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. She practices women's health in a rural clinic and writes in her spare time. All profits from her book are going to animal rescue, Santa Paula Animal Shelter, the first and only no-kill shelter in Ventura County, CA, where she lives. (see links below on Ventura County Star Article & Shelter) To find out more please go the The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap on facebook or Amazon or e-mail us at the gavatar addresses. Thank you. Great tribute, from the heart of a jazz enthusiast… JJ

    • Oh, I love jazz also. Seems we have endless things in common we could chat about. Well, maybe someday you will make the trip across the pond with your wife and we can chat. You’ll have to remind me of a great Charlie Parker story from my working in the ER. Have a great day, friend. 🙂

Ah… Paulette, if I was a believer, in other that the powers of the written word, a real friend, and jazz, Charlie would have been my God.

      • Same page! Okay, here’s a short version. An unconscious patient came into the ER, a jazz musician, and when he came to he was asked orientation questions, “Who’s the President?” etc. to which he didn’t respond. I whispered in his ear, “I love The Bird,” to which he started chatting about Charlie Parker. Things may fade but that one is still vivid.

  5. Absolutely delightful.

Hey Paulette! What fun and yes I made it to the before the sun goes down.
I really wonder whose owns that adorable puppy. I’m sure it is no longer a puppy. You just know it had to bring immense pleasure.
Thanks for trying to put in in the spot light. 🙂 LOL But it is all about the puppy. Maybe I’ll learn to howl.

That is so sweet and cute!

    • Hey Clowie! We think so also. Meme really surprised us and our biped with this one but we had to listen to her sing all day and it sent us howling, BOL. wag wag Max & Bella (ps. meme has a delightful site that I really enjoy biped Paulette 🙂 )
