Thank you to everyone who has read my book and taken the time to write a review. In the name of tolerance and because all profits are going to help animal rescue, I’m deeply grateful.

Mahurin spins an emotional tale complete with some valuable life lessons. The main characters are real people living in a small-town atmosphere where everyone knows everyone’s business. What is a real friend? Read this book and you will gain some insight into some real friends.

I was so pleasantly surprised in this book! This was a free purchase through Book Bub that had great reviews. I liked it! Prejudices are nothing new to human nature but we can learn to be tolerant, forgiving and loving. Life is too short to hate!

The author created compelling characters that the reader easily understood. The setting enabled the reader to learn a little about Montana. (NB: story takes place in Nevada)

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap
The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing.
Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. Great review.
🙂
May the accolades go on forever, if only to be a constant reminder of the endless need to ask for tolerance for something of which nature offers no choice. Choice as to the colour of our skin, our sexual orientation, or for that matter any other element that fashions we so called human being or any other living creature.
May the accolades go forever on for the sad necessity of a needed reminder for kindness and understanding, hence so until the people of this world wake up to realize we all have the right to be what we are, that being what nature without consulting us has chosen for us, to live and let live, unquestioned and in harmony with all our fellow creatures.
Last but not least, may those accolades go on forever, because they are truly well deserved. JJ
