I’ve been nominated by The Other Side of Ugly for a blogger of the year award. http://theothersideofugly.com/2013/11/09/another-year-of-honor-as-a-blogger/comment-page-2/#comment-6817
Coming from Sheri is an honor for her site puts a lot of love and light out to a whole lot of followers. She’s been inspirational for me to read and follow on a regular basis. I don’t usually do anything with awards because I can never figure out the badges (and trust me people have tried to educate me to no success) and I’d return the award to all I follow. I can’t pick out just one person who inspires or moves me. You all do. There are so many of you gifted, talented, tormented, animal loving, all-over-the-map friends out there and I follow each and every one of you for your specialness. So please accept my shout out to all my blogger friends. All that said there is one man, Bill Hamilton, who I’d love to flow some loving attention to.
Bill has been living with COPD: http://dealingwithcopd.wordpress.com/about/ and writes about his uphill battle with the disease but that’s not why I’m highlighting my friend. If any of you have ever been short of breath on a regular protracted basis you’ll understand how hard it is to do anything. Back to Bill, who has a heart of gold, is an incredible story teller, gives back to his blogger family/buddies, and has just suffered the horrible loss of a young family member and had to travel to the funeral. That trip set him back with a yet another pneumonia. Thankfully he didn’t land back in the hospital this time. With all this, he keeps blogging, reaching out to and supporting his friends, and shines a light into this world that is brilliant.
I hope my friends here take a minute to stop by and meet Bill, say hello, have a look at some of his great writing (he’s lived a lot of real adventures and writes about things that will leave you laughing silly).
My friend, Bill, this one’s for you!
Love & Hugs, Paulette
I will visit him. What a special post. Hugs, Brenda
He’s a really special human being. My heart’s a little sad for him that he and his family suffered the loss of a young niece. That was just within the last week or two. He could use some loving visits and I thank you for stopping by his cyberhome. 🙂
Oh, it is so sad when young people die.
Yes it is.
What a wonderful post for your friend, Bill. Heading over there right now. 🙂
You’d love Bill. Great guy! So happy you’re heading over there to meet him. Thank you. 🙂
I LOVE BILL!!!!! He is so encouraging, so thoughtful, and so giving. 🙂 He is worth the read for funny, thoughtful, and adventurous reading. He is a very kind soul.
You can say all that again!!! Took the words right out of my heart. He is our special friend and I love reading the back and forth ‘tween him and you. Two of my sweetest cyber buds. 🙂
Awwww! He is pretty awesome. 🙂 Thanks Paulette, mix us all together and we get some pretty sweet awesome sauce. 😉
🙂
Congratulations. I have meet Bill and he left his footprints in my site. I teased him as Santa Claus look alike in one of his post.
He may very well be channeling Santa Claus… I think you’re on to sumthink. I love it when friends connect with friends. Helps to make a friendlier world. 😉
Congratulations, Paulette! 😉
What a sweet fellow Bill Hamilton appears to be.
Bill’s a salt of the earth! Happy weekend, Tess. 🙂
Same to you, Paulette. 🙂
🙂
Congratulation ,your blog deserves the best for it’s transparency and human touch, its not the blog its the heart behind the blog.Regards.JMS
Oh that is so generously kind of you to say this. It’s touched me deeply. I do suppose that one kind heart sees another. Thank you my friend. 🙂
Paulette, I stumbled into my office after a mid morning nap, to find my inbox filled with comments about my “About Me” post and I went “INT WFT.” What in the world prompted so much attention about something over a year old. I truly was caught shorts around my knees. Then with a little investigation I found your shout out!!! Thank you that was so sweet, and your friends made such wonderful comments. I will be spending a good part of the afternoon answering each of them. I truly hope you win the award, your blog is great, and the benefits of it, help us all by making us more aware. Please take care, my sweet friend. And again thank you for the great shout out. XOXO Bill
Bill!!! You deserve the attention. Now, go pull your pants up and have fun chatting with some new great folk. Many big fat hugs to your great self. xoxox
After reading Mr. Hamilton, I can attest to his having made a perfect choice. Jean-Jacques
I think you two would get along famously, JJ. 🙂
I think so too !
🙂
How wonderful! You are more than deserving. The last post you suggested, by J. Kerry Bevill was one of the best explorations and follows I have done. I am certainly going to check him out. My mother has COPD and I know her struggles – how this once vital and still feisty lady has been laid low by this disease. She never gives up. it is certainly a disease we need to be more aware of. Thank you and again, my heartiest congratulations and a huge cyber hug and smack on the cheek.
Oh my goodness, that hug and cheek smack just made my day! COPD is a tough disease, I get short of breath just thinking about it (not kidding). I think you’re going to really like Bill. He’s so upbeat and just a plain ole terrififc human being. Just like Kerry (so happy you’re enjoying his site). 🙂
‘course I do – he’s Southern too! I really like his work and the work of others that he shares. He deserves a big hug too.
🙂
Great post for your friend Bill.
Thanks, Lou. He’s a great guy. 🙂
A lovely honour for you P.
Thanks for introducing us to your friend – some people seems able to help others, regardless of their own lot in life…
Thanks, G! That describes Bill, a real good old salt of the earth. 🙂
I really really understand. I am there too.
I know and I hope that you’re getting better. Been thinking of you and sending healing thoughts. Please take care.
I’m proud to call Bill my friend, too. He’s gorgeous guy (who thinks I’m blind) who inspires me with his humour, courage and his writing.
Okay then that’s two against one. We both agree Bill’s gorgeous! He’s one hell of a great human being, part of our wonderful cyber family. 🙂
Congrats on the ward, Paula. I’ll pop across to visit Bill right now. 🙂
Awww, thanks so much! You’ll love Bill, a really great guy. 🙂
Yes he is a sweet guy. 🙂
🙂
Congratulation to both you, Paulette and to Bill! Good things come to good people. 🙂
Awww, thanks tons! 🙂
On my way for a visit to your friend with COPD. He sounds like a true inspiration. Congratulations to you!
Hey there jbw! He is in the best sense in that he’s a regular down to earth honest man with a killer positive attitude. He’s walking the walk and has become a good friend. Always nice to see you pop in. 🙂
Congratulations,Paulette , so very well deserved! I will pay Bill a visit too. Love, Francina xo
All the sweeter to share with you and connect you with my friend Bill! xoxo
Paulette, I always see you over at jayce68 and had the good sense to click on your name today. What a treat your site is. This particular entry hits home as I, too, have COPD. I shall look forward to visiting Bill’s site – thanks for the hookup! Best ~ HuntMode
P.S. – Read the back cover of your book – I’ll be reading that shortly. Sounds terrific.
huntmode! Wow, this is a treat. Just popped back to your site and met The Chaser, too too cute. Well, I’m equally thrilled that you and Bill can connect and know that any friend of ghia’s over at jayce68 will bond with Bill, a down to goodness salt of the earth. So happy you stopped by and am now happily following you. Cheers! (ps. thanks for the kind words about my book’s cover) 😉 ps. forgive my manners; I hope your COPD is under control and you’re doing okay.
Paulette, I am feeling well and truly blessed today – I am in the process of reading Bill’s site from the beginning – back to June 2012. He does such a fine job of describing how it goes day to day. He is further along than I and makes me feel so grateful.
So glad you enjoy the Staff at our place. Wait until you meet the new additions! Best ~ HuntMode
Doesn’t get much better than feeling blessed. I know how that is, especially dealing with a chronic illness (Lyme disease) which has gotten better thankfully. I’m really delighted you’ve connected with Bill. His positive upbeat attitude is very infectious. Looking forward to more with you. 🙂
