Meet my friend Bill Hamilton

I’ve been nominated by The Other Side of Ugly for a blogger of the year award. http://theothersideofugly.com/2013/11/09/another-year-of-honor-as-a-blogger/comment-page-2/#comment-6817

Coming from Sheri is an honor for her site puts a lot of love and light out to a whole lot of followers. She’s been inspirational for me to read and follow on a regular basis. I don’t usually do anything with awards because I can never figure out the badges (and trust me people have tried to educate me to no success) and I’d return the award to all I follow. I can’t pick out just one person who inspires or moves me. You all do. There are so many of you gifted, talented, tormented, animal loving, all-over-the-map friends out there and I follow each and every one of you for your specialness. So please accept my shout out to all my blogger friends. All that said there is one man, Bill Hamilton, who I’d love to flow some loving attention to.

Bill has been living with COPD: http://dealingwithcopd.wordpress.com/about/  and writes about his uphill battle with the disease but that’s not why I’m highlighting my friend. If any of you have ever been short of breath on a regular protracted basis you’ll understand how hard it is to do anything. Back to Bill, who has a heart of gold, is an incredible story teller, gives back to his blogger family/buddies, and has just suffered the horrible loss of a young family member and had to travel to the funeral. That trip set him back with a yet another pneumonia. Thankfully he didn’t land back in the hospital this time. With all this, he keeps blogging, reaching out to and supporting his friends, and shines a light into this world that is brilliant.

I hope my friends here take a minute to stop by and meet Bill, say hello, have a look at some of his great writing (he’s lived a lot of real adventures and writes about things that will leave you laughing silly).

My friend, Bill, this one’s for you!

Love & Hugs, Paulette

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap

The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing. Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. She practices women's health in a rural clinic and writes in her spare time. All profits from her book are going to animal rescue, Santa Paula Animal Shelter, the first and only no-kill shelter in Ventura County, CA, where she lives. (see links below on Ventura County Star Article & Shelter) To find out more please go the The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap on facebook or Amazon or e-mail us at the gavatar addresses. Thank you. Paulette, I stumbled into my office after a mid morning nap, to find my inbox filled with comments about my “About Me” post and I went “INT WFT.” What in the world prompted so much attention about something over a year old. I truly was caught shorts around my knees. Then with a little investigation I found your shout out!!! Thank you that was so sweet, and your friends made such wonderful comments. I will be spending a good part of the afternoon answering each of them. I truly hope you win the award, your blog is great, and the benefits of it, help us all by making us more aware. Please take care, my sweet friend. And again thank you for the great shout out. XOXO Bill

How wonderful! You are more than deserving. The last post you suggested, by J. Kerry Bevill was one of the best explorations and follows I have done. I am certainly going to check him out. My mother has COPD and I know her struggles – how this once vital and still feisty lady has been laid low by this disease. She never gives up. it is certainly a disease we need to be more aware of. Thank you and again, my heartiest congratulations and a huge cyber hug and smack on the cheek.

Paulette, I always see you over at jayce68 and had the good sense to click on your name today. What a treat your site is. This particular entry hits home as I, too, have COPD. I shall look forward to visiting Bill’s site – thanks for the hookup! Best ~ HuntMode

P.S. – Read the back cover of your book – I’ll be reading that shortly. Sounds terrific.

    • huntmode! Wow, this is a treat. Just popped back to your site and met The Chaser, too too cute. Well, I’m equally thrilled that you and Bill can connect and know that any friend of ghia’s over at jayce68 will bond with Bill, a down to goodness salt of the earth. So happy you stopped by and am now happily following you. Cheers! (ps. thanks for the kind words about my book’s cover) 😉 ps. forgive my manners; I hope your COPD is under control and you’re doing okay.

Paulette, I am feeling well and truly blessed today – I am in the process of reading Bill’s site from the beginning – back to June 2012. He does such a fine job of describing how it goes day to day. He is further along than I and makes me feel so grateful.

So glad you enjoy the Staff at our place. Wait until you meet the new additions! Best ~ HuntMode

      • Doesn’t get much better than feeling blessed. I know how that is, especially dealing with a chronic illness (Lyme disease) which has gotten better thankfully. I’m really delighted you’ve connected with Bill. His positive upbeat attitude is very infectious. Looking forward to more with you. 🙂
