Lady Luck joined our family on May 20, 2014 at the ripe age of what we were told was 15. She was emaciated, depressed, and disoriented, since it had only been three days since she was dumped at a kill shelter. The drive back to our place took 2 1/2 hours and in that time I hugged her until she decided she wanted to stand, stick her head out the window and catch every smell out there. When we got home we gave her a bath, to wash away what should have remained on a lawn somewhere. The first photo below is this beautiful girl after her bath, making herself right at home. She fit right in with Max & Bella and has been a part of our family for the past nine and a half months. She died peacefully this morning of a stroke as we held her in our arms.

It’s so nice that she was able to experience love and a safe home in the last months of her life.
Zoe
Thank you, Zoe. It was a lovely experience for all of us. She was an especially sweet girl and we’re lucky to have had her grace our lives. ❤
Paulette regret this sad news, I think Lady Luck was lucky to find you, it’s a shame that this happened at the end of his life, but I’m sure will thank you forever.
I am truly sorry my friend,a hug.
Thank you so much, Belen Soto, for your most heartfelt lovely words. Very appreciated. ❤
What a shame she was taken so soon. It’s good though that she was taken in the midst of a family that loved her rather than in the shelter she’d been consigned too. You made the last 9 months of her life the best she’d had.
xxx Huge Hugs xxx
Aww, thank you so much for your most kind words. Huge hugs back to you. ❤
I am so sorry I’ve taken so long to get by to offer my condolences. Lady Luck found her peace with you, and I know she told you every day just how grateful she was. I know my heart still aches for DeDe, and it’s been over a year. But that is a small price to pay for all she gave to me when she was alive. I’m betting you feel the same.
Your betting is right on, honey. Thank you so much for your kind words. Can’t tell you how much they help. ❤
I’m sorry for your loss. Such a beauty
Thank you so much for your kind words. She was a beauty indeed. And a sweetheart. ❤

I’m sorry for your loss but happy that she found a loving family to spend her last days with.
Hi and thank you so much, Danny. She was a gem and we were so grateful she graced our lives with her sweet disposition. Hope all’s well with you. ❤
Yeah, not bad my friend. Bit of a cold that’s turned my nose into a snot factory but apart from that just rosy.
Oh no, it’s snot funny to be stuffed up. Sending you lots of effective decongestion thoughts. Take care. 😉
I’m so sorry to hear of her passing, but so grateful that she was loved in her last year by your family. 🙂 I’m happily on my second rescue dog. My first lived 9 years with me and my present has been with me almost five years. This one was a little less than a year old when I picked him up-all 85 pounds of him. 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind words. More importantly thank you for rescuing dogs. It’s been a passion of mine, and my hubby’s, being involved in dog rescue for the last 28 years. Lady Luck was one of the sweetest and although she was only with us a short while, she made a huge dent in our hearts. We miss her. ❤

Such a lovely statement on love. Thank you so much , Brenda. Lady Luck was one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever had, a real blessing in our lives. ❤
I believe it, she looks serene and loving from your photos.
She was all that. ❤
You all have the kindest hearts, now laden with sadness… But her heart was filled with love.
She was pure love, Koji, and spread smiles wherever she went. One of the sweetest souls I’d ever met. ❤
So sorry for your loss.
Thank you for your kind words. Very appreciated. ❤
Very sorry for your loss. You did an amazing thing. Not many people would adopt or foster an older animal. Today is day 2 with my 18 year old foster, princess Leia. Sweet girl. She’s getting cozy. Still a bit shy. But considering she lost her parent in March and has been shuttled around so her human cousin could avoid a shelter. Her cats didnt take to her. She s doing really good. We,re going to keep her till the end. My first time fostering. I just lost my cats over 9 months. have a soft spot for old animals. I was always proud I had really old cats.
Oh I’m so happy you stopped by and we got a chance to meet. A big fat cyber hug to you for fostering princess Leia. And thank you so much for your kind words about losing Lady Luck, the sweetest girl we’ve had. I know what you mean about being proud that your fur babies live to be ripe old ages. We’ve had rotties live to over 15 and love to brag about it. Lastly, I’m so sorry for your recent loss. It’s never easy.
I’m glad we’ve met and are now new cyber buds.
15 year rotties!!! That’s impressive. I’ve had 2 cats that lived till 19 1/2. I’m hoping Leia will get me to at least 20 🙂
Sending good thoughts that Leia makes it to 20 and more. ❤
I’m so sorry Paulette, I must have missed this post about Lady Luck, I’m sorry for your loss, but you gave her a lovely home for the time she was with you so she knew love and kindness. RIP sweet girl .
It’s so good to see you and thank you so much for your kind words. Lady Luck really got into our hearts with her grace and dignity. She was the sweetest and one of the easiest dogs we’ve ever had. We were lucky we had that time with her.
Hope all is well your end. Please hug all the fur babies. Love, Paulette
What a sweet dog. I am a big fan and have had dogs around all my life. They keep me young and happy. Even though one is really sick and I’m fearing the worse. But we go one and invite more into our lives.
Thank you so much for your kind words and stopping by. I know how it is with our fur babies when they age and we sense what is coming. My heart’s with you that you have more good quality time with yours. Please feel free to stop by any time and share whatever you’d like about dogs. They are my passion. My hubby and I have been into dog rescue for the past 28 years. Can’t imagine life without them. Have a good day my friend. Love, Paulette
Thank you
