It’s been a good day for dogs and my book The Seven Year Dress

My book is in the top 1% for sales in the Amazon Kindle Store and is #31 in top 100 for the literary-fiction-historical category. I’m deeply grateful for everyone who has purchased, read, and taken the time to review my book. In the name of tolerance, a special thank you also to everyone who has spread the word to help promote this book.  All profits from my books go to help get dogs like those below out of kill shelters. Thus far in 2016, 78 dogs have been freed. Last year 148 dogs were freed.

AND please for everyone who’s purchased a book could I humbly ask you to write a review when you’ve completed the read. I have just found out that Amazon promotes and ranks books according to number of reviews in addition to sales. Every voice helps spread the word and that is an energy that can help a dog.

This is the best book that Ms Mahurin has published. Her ability to incorporate the history of Hitters Regime from the very beginnings to the Holocaust and the life and survival of a young Jewish women was remarkable. She so skillfully manages to weave history and Helens experiences into one. It is not an easy read to begin with (emotionally) but as Helens story develops and grow into one of survival was outstanding. I could not put the book down. It will definability be a reread in the future. I am looking forward to the next book as each new book becomes better and better.

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap

The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing. Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. She practices women's health in a rural clinic and writes in her spare time. All profits from her book are going to animal rescue, Santa Paula Animal Shelter, the first and only no-kill shelter in Ventura County, CA, where she lives. (see links below on Ventura County Star Article & Shelter) To find out more please go the The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap on facebook or Amazon or e-mail us at the gavatar addresses. Thank you. Great day for dogs indeed. And your book. love it!

  2. Now we are starting with a good day too, dear Paulette ❤ Extra double Pawkisses for a wonderful day 🙂 ❤

    • There are a whole lot of wonderful pawkisses being spread around about these dogs being rescued and yours makes it all the more special. It was indeed a really productive day for freeing dogs. A lot of people helped with pledges, sharing, networking, and finally home sweet home or to a loving rescue group with fosters. Have a wonderful weekend and many extra pawkisses back to ya’ll. ❤

    Congratulations! 🙂

  4. A great day for happy!

  5. I’m so glad that your book continues to be a best seller. The photos of the dogs are simply great. Such cute dogs that got lucky and so did the new owners. 🙂

    • Hi and thank you, Yvonne. I’m with you on the photos of the dogs. I just hope we can rescue a ton more. I have committed pledges on many more that are still in kill shelters and now we’re networking to connect with rescues, fosters, etc. Fingers and paws crossed we see more good people available to help. For now, one happy dog (and family) at a time. ❤

      • I hope that you can get a better network of fosters going. That would be so wonderful.

      • Fosters and rescues. Some of the kill-kennels won’t release the dogs unless it’s to a 503 non-profit and they are loaded and overworked. But little by little we’re making headway. The funds dedicated to dogs helps them and that makes the difference to who gets out. Wish there was more of everything but don’t get me started. As always hope you’re well. Take care my friend. ❤

  6. Congrats on the success of the book. Thank you for all you do for the pups. They need a champion and you are a fabulous one.

  7. Deziz World says:
