Amazon is taking notice and a big THANK YOU to all who have helped.

My book is continuing in the top 1% for sales in the Amazon Kindle Store and is #21 in top 100 for the literary-fiction-historical category. And it is now in the top 100 for the Literary fiction and Teen category. I’ve also been ranked by Amazon as the #58 top ranking author for two of my books, The Seven Year Dress and To Live Out loud, in the historical fiction category. And I made it to the top 100 (#87) in the literary fiction category.

I’m deeply grateful for everyone who has purchased, read, and taken the time to review my book. In the name of tolerance, a special thank you also to everyone who has spread the word to help promote this book.  All profits from my books go to help get dogs out of kill shelters. Thus far in 2016, 79 dogs have been freed. Last year 148 dogs were freed.

AND please for everyone who’s purchased a book could I humbly ask you to write a review when you’ve completed the read. I have just found out that Amazon promotes and ranks books according to number of reviews in addition to sales. Every voice helps spread the word and that is an energy that can help a dog.

RECENT REVIEWS FOR MY BOOK THE SEVEN YEAR DRESS

on August 10, 2016
I love to read and educate myself on the many aspects of WWII. Every story is unique in its own way. The people involved, their spirit for survival. I awes me each and every time

This book was so sad and heartbreaking, but written very well and really demonstrates the terrible acts of the Nazi government and the torture and death they forced upon the Jews. So much is unknown about the true horrors that they endured- this book will educate you and introduce you to their living hell. Also, portion of all proceeds go to help animals in kill shelters.

The Seven Year Dress is not the first book I’ve read by Paulette Mahurin, but is easily the best.

After reading the Prologue I was well and truly hooked. Chapter One, set in the early 1920’s depicts a well-to-do Jewish family living happily in Germany.
Helen’s father dismisses the rumours about Hitler’s plans for the Jews and they stay put in Germany.Unfortunately, the inevitable happens…

Best book I’ve read of its kind.

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap

The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing. Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. She practices women's health in a rural clinic and writes in her spare time. All profits from her book are going to animal rescue, Santa Paula Animal Shelter, the first and only no-kill shelter in Ventura County, CA, where she lives. (see links below on Ventura County Star Article & Shelter) To find out more please go the The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap on facebook or Amazon or e-mail us at the gavatar addresses. Thank you. • What a lovely response, Pat.Thank you so much. No one in this life makes it alone. I am truly grateful to each and every one of you who has helped in any way whether with my books, with a dog, with a kind word, etc. It makes life easier. Even with successes there are struggles and it’s friends and family that shine the light to move us through. I’ve never nor will I ever forget that. A most heartfelt Shalom aleichem to you and to all on this earth. ❤

  8. Delighted for you…and for the dogs who will be freed as a result of your work. I’ve put this blog post on FB and already one lady says that she is going to put your books on her book club’s reading list for this year.

    • Thank you so much Helen. I’m grateful for your support and spreading the word. It’s surely to help a lot of dogs. I have ton of pledges out there on a lot of dogs in kill shelters and now all we’re waiting for are legitimate 503s, rescues, fosters, to free them. The people getting the dogs out are so overloaded and we’re (a huge group) is madly networking to enlist more people to help. Your putting this on your facebook page is an immense help and I can’t thank you enough. I hope your friend’s group enjoys the book. Please tell them to feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or feedback. All conversations are welcome. If you’d like to put your facebook link here and I’ll happily connect with you there. ❤

      • I’m on FB as me…is there something else that works as a link?

      • I tried searching for your name and there are several Helen Devries. None fit your description (Texas Remote Accounting; Bakersfield, CA.; The London School of Econominc; Walt Disney Company; two with nothing mentioned but I can’t see their sites because I’m not friends with them. lol ). Here’s my link. Friend me and I’ll connect with you that you, if that’s okay with you. https://www.facebook.com/paulette.mahurin
You aren’t the London School of Economics are you? (I’m laughing). Over to you to solve the mystery. 🙂

    Wow. Congrats!
How do you find these stats?

    • Thank you. They are listed on the book’s page on Amazon. Just above the author bio. In this case these are from Amazon U.S. In the UK I am in the top 100 in the kindle book store for Literary Fiction Historical. It varies day to day and hour to hour. And is different for each Amazon site and varies depending on type of book. My stats are based on kindle book sales. My paperback stats are nowhere near these but the combination of kindle books and paperback sales put me in the top 100 in the entire Amazon store for all books-that was a couple weeks ago. Again it changes daily multiple times. Hope this helps. Have a good day. 🙂 p.s. if you want to find best sellers in Amazon in general go to the top of the page on any Amazon site to “best sellers” and pick which category you want. There is the best seller list for the entire Amazon store for books for that country and then it breaks it down to categories as well as most popular author based on compilation of books.
