My book The Seven Year Dress is continuing to rank in the top 100 best sellers in the kindle bookstore in the literary-fiction-historical, literary fiction, and the young adult categories. I’ve also been ranked by Amazon as top ranking author for two of my books, The Seven Year Dress and To Live Out loud, in the historical fiction category and the Teen/Young Adult category. And in the literary fiction category for The Seven Year Dress. And my book His Name Was Ben is #12 on the Amazon Best Sellers in General category. See photos below.
I’m deeply grateful for everyone who has purchased, read, and taken the time to review my book. In the name of tolerance, a special thank you also to everyone who has spread the word to help promote this book. All profits from my books go to help get dogs like Elton, Stashia, Davinci and Treat (see photo below) out of kill shelters. Thus far in 2016, 177 dogs have been freed. Last year 148 dogs were freed.
AND please for everyone who’s purchased a book could I humbly ask you to write a review when you’ve completed the read. I have just found out that Amazon promotes and ranks books according to number of reviews in addition to sales. Every voice helps spread the word and that is an energy that can help a dog.

RECENT REVIEWS FOR THE SEVEN YEAR DRESS
AMAZON U.S.
It was very informative and intriguing.
Keeps reader engaged all the way thru. Very emotionally energizing.
Amazing and well written. While it is based in a dreadful place at a dreadful time it gives one insight and hope about the human condition and ability to see the good and persevere. It reminds of the importance of focusing on life and the small things
It was the amazing story of the greatest atrocity our world has ever experienced. So sad, yet still full of love and hope.
This was a great read. It’s a book of bravery, heroism, and perseverance. I admire the main character in this book.
Another very sad book on what happened to prisoners during the 2nd WW. I still can’t comprehend how human beings can treat their fellow beings the way some of these people did. It is very graphic and well written as to what happened.
Such a great read. It offers another perspective of the Holocaust than another other book I’ve read regarding that subject. Beautifully written.

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap
The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing.

Such good work…and a win win for all who buy your books.
I have to tell you that we now know why Scruff – who arrived while I was in England – was abandoned. She was skeletal when she arrived, but quickly put on weight…and then it was evident that she was pregnant.
She has just produced four beautiful pups – lying in bed with Leo for the whole performance, just as if she were one of King Charles II’s spaniels who had the run of the royal bedchamber.
She is a wonderful mother and we shall be keeping the pups ourselves, unless a friend wants one – though he has ten dogs already: the hazards of being a postman with a kind heart for animals, like all his colleagues who are also over run with dogs come across on their rounds.
Obviously, the necessary snips will be applied once appropriate!
Well well well, I can now give you the proverbial huge cyber hug not just for rescuing your adorable Scruff but FOUR more. Bless your ever-loving sweet heart for taking them all in (with the caveat you mentioned). And what a sweet image of her in bed with Leo. The Queen knows her place and the rest of us bow to her. You’ve made my day and boy did I need that smile. Thank you dear Helen. ❤
I congratulate the postmen of our area…they are dog rescuers to a man.
Leo felt he was privileged that Scruff trusted him enough to give birth alongside him…but on a prosaic note it was not the moment for the washing machine to break down…
I raise my cyber glass with you to the postmen. And add a big OH NO on your washing machine breaking down. But I must admit it made me laugh and that’s even better than the smile you put on my face. Hug the new fur babies and mamma from moi.
177 dogs!!!

Elton is a mini Choppy!
Now that you mention it, I can sorta see the resemblance. I’ll be on the look out for Travels with Elton. I just love that name for that little cutie. 🙂
It’s a great name – I can just imagine someone yelling it out to their dog at the dog park!
Haha, that’s a cute image, someone yelling for him at a dog park.
Congratulations on the continued success of your books and thanks for being a champion for dogs needing to be rescued.
