I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has purchased, read, and taken the time to review one of my books. All profits from my books go to help get dogs like Thor, Nora, Warren, Clyde, Taco, Benny, and best friends Bloo & Lady, Alvin, Balto and Carina (photos below) out of kill shelters. We’re off to a good start in 2017 with the freedom of 25 dogs. In in 2016, 250 dogs were freed. In 2015, 148 dogs were freed.
AND please for everyone who’s purchased a book could I humbly ask you to write a review when you’ve completed the read. Amazon promotes and ranks books according to number of reviews in addition to sales. Every voice helps spread the word and that is an energy that can help a dog.

RECENT REVIEWS FOR THE PERSECUTION OF MILDRED DUNLAP
Gossip, in more ways, is worse than murder, some say. The rippling effects of gossip can have a weak subject wishing for death; even materializing it for themselves.
The story is set in the 19th century; goes to show that man doesn’t learn his/her lessons on what is good and what is bad. Centuries and eons of technologies later, many among us still judge; many still look down on people; many still can’t keep opinions in check; many still come to conclusions the basis for which are self-serving speculations. Indeed, it’s a sad plight if we look at it this way. One good thing in the present time, the marginalized now have a voice in many parts of the world. A lot of people and countries take up advocacies for equality and against discrimination. It’s not perfect but it’s a big thing from the situation in the book.
The scenario in the book happened at the same time when Oscar Wilde was imprisoned because of having relations with another man. A lot of thought-provoking quotes from this famed playwright abound; at least one per chapter. They make the readers think twice before passing judgment on Mildred Dunlap, the main character who was in the same predicament as Mr. Wilde.
Paulette Mahurin is an engaging writer; another in my list to watch out for.

I always admire those who rescue the older dogs. All of those soulful eyes… just melts my heart. ❤
They are angels, those who help the elder fur friends. It’s such a heartbreak to see an older “family” dog dumped in a kill shelter. Thank goodness for those with big hearts who reach out to help them. ❤
Happy faces! As others have pointed out, special people take the elderly and the ill dogs into their hearts.
Yes, very special people. Thank goodness for them! Hope you and Leo have a peaceful, good weekend. ❤
Fabulous. Fabulous. Congratulations, Paulette.
The puppies all look happy too. ❤ ❤ ❤
They sure do, Tess, especially the elders and medically challenged. I’m very happy my books are continuing to sell. In this extremely competitive world with so much talent out there I feel very lucky. ❤

“What a difference a book makes” that’s what came up when we read the reviews and saw the doggies, Paulette 🙂 The picture of Lady and her little furriend is heart touching. Pawkisses for a wonderful day and Good Luck to all the rescued and not yet rescued doggies in the world 🙂 ❤
I love that photo of Lady and Bloo in the yard. I’m immensely grateful they were kept together. Bloo is blind and Lady has arthritis but together their love gives them purpose and joy in life. They are so sweet together and the angels that kept them together made my day! Many pawkisses to you my sweet friend. ❤ 🙂
