All profits from my books go to help get dogs like Cougar, Liam, Cheerio, Gypsy, Atlas, best friends Millie & Larry, Lulu, Elsa, Eleanor, Todd, Alfonzo, Silvio, Jessica, Gary, Lorraine, Phoebe, Stewart, Presley and Elvira (photos below) out of kill shelters. We’re off to a good start in 2017 with the freedom of 45 dogs. In in 2016, 250 dogs were freed. In 2015, 148 dogs were freed.

AND please for everyone who’s purchased a book could I humbly ask you to write a review when you’ve completed the read.  Amazon promotes and ranks books according to number of reviews in addition to sales. Every voice helps spread the word and that is an energy that can help a dog.

RECENT REVIEWS FOR THE SEVEN YEAR DRESS

AMAZON U.S.

on January 19, 2017
The terrifying topic of WW II and the thankfully unsuccessful annihilation of Jews, continues to draw me, even now, some 45 Years after first reading books on this topic. This story was yet another that I couldn’t stop reading. The strength of the Holocaust survivors and victims will never be forgotten by me. Nor should anyone ever forget. We must ALWAYS be vigilant.
on January 17, 2017
An interesting start to this novel sets the tone and purpose for the story. As puzzle pieces come together, the reader comes to understand the significance of the dress and its owner. Really enjoyed the story and found inspiration from the main character, the dress owner.

GOODREADS

Christine

Jan 15, 2017 Christine rated it it was amazing *****
Whenever I read a book about the Holocaust, I can’t help but be reflective as well as thankful for the life I’ve had. It’s so unfair that so many people suffered so much hardship and sadness during the war, and yet amazingly there is still hope and kindness to be found amongst it all. The Seven Year Dress is a well written story, I liked the way Helen was introduced and how her story flowed on from there and I totally recommend this book for all fans of historical fiction.

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap

The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing. Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. She practices women's health in a rural clinic and writes in her spare time. All profits from her book are going to animal rescue, Santa Paula Animal Shelter, the first and only no-kill shelter in Ventura County, CA, where she lives. (see links below on Ventura County Star Article & Shelter) To find out more please go the The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap on facebook or Amazon or e-mail us at the gavatar addresses. Thank you.
