This book is definitely a tear jerker! A great book but entirely sad! I could not put the book down
A powerful story of survival against incredible odds.
I felt the characters rang true throughout the book. While not the most brutal description of incarceration by evil this is still a difficult book to read at times. The ending was both hopeful and believable.
A very heart felt and well written book. It exposed more horrors of Nazi Germany. Helen is a brave character.

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap
The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing.
Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. Fantastic on 323 dogs and the continued great reviews. Great way to start the weekend.
❤
This is always a happy end story
It sure is Lou. I’m so happy to be a small part of it. ❤
Wow, thank you! You sure do know how to liven up a celebration. 🙂
THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY THREE????? ❤
And two more this morning. Wait till you see Matilda and Bonnie with the next post! I’m really happy there are so many good people stepping up to help the dogs. One of the rescues today had pneumonia and a wonderful woman stepped up to take her. The dog is now in the vet recovering beautifully. That one will be featured in the next post. Have a great weekend, Colleen. ❤
You too Paulette. And I look forward to the joyful pictures 🙂
🙂
Makes me look at my lot and think how lucky I am to have them.
My girl Bella is slurping a big bucket of water as we speak, a sound I’m in love with despite the mess she drips all over the place. Then there’s the boy Max who is wobbling around on his three paws, making his own mess. I wouldn’t change a thing. They fill my heart and make our family complete. With you my friend on feeling lucky. ❤
The joyful faces of your dogs make me really happy 😀
They sure do have that effect, Marilyn. Have a happy Sunday to you and your hubby and fur babies. 🙂
You are amazing Paulette!! xoxo
Hi and thank you Denise! It’s been a good year so far. ❤
Oh, Lollipop just makes me smile!
She is adorable and boy did she want out. Once out she was one very happy cutie pie. I love those ears of hers, too cute. 🙂
The ears get me so many times!
Wait till the next post. Keep your eyes out for Radcliff. I’ll be up some time soon. I wait till I get several more dogs so I can post a bunch instead of one or two at a time. We’ve just hit 330 and Radcliff will knock your socks off. Stay tuned. 🙂
OMC Don’t know how we missed this pawsum mews. Dat’s wonderful. Averages out to a hundred plus purr month. Can you ‘magine ifin this keeps up, dat would be 1200 happy furries at da end of da year? We can see it now. A meowsy big ConCats and keep up da good work. Big hugs

Amazing. I loved scrolling through the photos and seeing all those happy dogs – some with big smiles 🙂
Hi and thanks for stopping by D. Wallace Peach. They sure do have great smiles and demonstrate amazing resilience. It’s such a gift to be able to help them. The loving feedback in food for my heart. ❤
