About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap
The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing.
Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. Hi JJ. So happy to share this with you. It sure is excellent to see so many dogs freed. Hugs to you, Marianne and your fur babies. ❤
I like all the pups this week cozy and sleepy at their new homes!
Yes, it’s very sweet to see those photos of the dogs feeling safe in their new homes. It’s a gift to be a small part of helping them. ❤
What an amazing difference for those dogs! It’s lovely to see.
It sure is Clowie. The before and after photos is a world of differences. ❤
Excellent all the things you do for so much dogs
Thank you so much, Lou. It’s a really feel good experience to help the dogs. ❤
Paulette it gives me so much pleasure to see the photos of all the beautiful and handsome souls that were saved from euthanasia. You are an angel to these creatures that only want kindness and love. I haven’t been commenting lately just had to let go of some blogs for a while. But I have been reading with a great deal of admiration for what you are doing to save these sweet dogs. I wish you continued success with your wonderful books.
Regards, Yvonne
How kind of you and how good to hear from you. I hope you and yours are well. It’s been a good year so far and I’m truly grateful to all the wonderful people who have pitched in to help rescue dogs. There’s so much more work to do. The dogs and their loving responses, their resilience, makes it all so worth while. Be well and take good care. ❤
