I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has purchased, read, and taken the time to review one of my books. All profits from my books go to help get dogs like Fernando, Roksija, Snowbelle, Sadie, Valentino, Sandor, Keira, Rayna, Cisco and Diamond (see photos below) out of kill shelters. So far in 2017 we’ve helped free 500 dogs. In 2016, 250 dogs were freed. In 2015, 148 dogs were freed.

AND please for everyone who’s purchased a book could I humbly ask you to write a review when you’ve completed the read.  Amazon promotes and ranks books according to number of reviews in addition to sales. Every voice helps spread the word and that is an energy that can help a dog.

RECENT REVIEWS FOR THE SEVEN YEAR DRESS

Another amazing story of survival from the holocaust. Author Paulette Mahurin weaves a great story. I read a few of the other reviews for this book, and the occasional negative comment was that the main character has sexual feelings within a stressful situation of being in hiding and later in a concentration camp. I’m seventy, and therefore listened to first-hand accounts from survivors of those camps and they did have sexual feelings. The story in real in that regard. A fine read.

A story of horror and deprivation beautifully told . It shows how one can survive agony and terror and have the will to survive.
on May 23, 2017
The Seven Year Dress challenges the reader to come up for air at every turn of events. The harrowing experiences are thoughtfully shared with vivid recollection. The will to survive cannot be portrayed better than Paulette Mahurin has done.

I loved the book. I cannot imagine all that this girl went through, and how much the dress meant to her.

Wow! What a beautiful and dreadful story all at the same time. Thank you Helen for your story. It’s unimaginable the horror that these people lived and died through and how one man could have orchestrated it all. This story was told in such a manner that you felt you were there. I had no trouble visualizling how these people looked and I could taste the fear in the sentences. Well done, beautifully written.

A well written book about the most horrendous times possible. How this lady survived amazes me as with any survived of the survivors of the holocaust.

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap

The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing. Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. She practices women's health in a rural clinic and writes in her spare time. All profits from her book are going to animal rescue, Santa Paula Animal Shelter, the first and only no-kill shelter in Ventura County, CA, where she lives. (see links below on Ventura County Star Article & Shelter) To find out more please go the The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap on facebook or Amazon or e-mail us at the gavatar addresses. Thank you. • Good to see you here Yvonne and I hope all is well with you, your family and fur babies. Yes, there are a lot of happy dogs and that is food for my heart. It’s one of the greatest rewards, to be a small part of a big effort to help a dog and the instant return from their joy…hard to find the words. Take care and be well. ❤

Magnificent Paulette… what an achievement 100% increase in under 6 months of the year so far. An author whose words propels the means to give life to our fellow creatures in need of defence from they who would do them harm. Beautiful my friend!
