REVIEWS FOR THE SEVEN YEAR DRESS
AMAZON U.S.
I enjoy WW2 stories, and Paulette does not disappoint. I got lost in the story earlier this summer and couldn’t put it down…I finished it in just a few days.
AMAZON U.K.
Three years ago I visited Krakow on a three day break with my daughter. While we were we had a tour of the two labour and death camps. This was a humbling experience for us seeing the results of these atrocities by the Nazis. I would recommend everyone to read this book, although fictional, it portrays a deep account of this evil regime and, in the face of unbelievable adversity, human beings can love and survive…one of the most moving books that I have ever read.

About The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap
The year 1895 was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; Richard Olney, United States Secretary of State, expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in settling a boundary dispute between the United Kingdom and Venezuela; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for "gross indecency" under Britian's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When the news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted by the news of Oscar Wildes' imprisonment. It is chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing.
Paulette Mahurin, the author, is a Nurse Practitioner who lives in Ojai, California with her husband Terry and their two dogs--- Max and Bella. She practices women's health in a rural clinic and writes in her spare time. All profits from her book are going to animal rescue, Santa Paula Animal Shelter, the first and only no-kill shelter in Ventura County, CA, where she lives. Great on the number of dogs rescued and the reviews!
❤
So many happy dogs…. ❤
They are food for my heart. I feel so lucky to be able to do my small part. And am truly grateful for every kindhearted person who helps with this effort and any effort to bestow an act of kindness on another. You shine in that category. Grateful to know you. ❤
All that you just said….is mutual my dear friend.
❤
You know the effect these happy faces have on me…lifts the day.
Always especially glad when the older dogs are rescued….
Same here, Helen. When I’m stressed I like to look at the freedom photos or watch the videos of them discovering they are freed. It does a heart good! Very happy to share these. ❤
I always look forward to seeing these sweeties find homes. I know it has to be a bit confusing at first – they go through so much… but they simply long to be loved, as we all do. 🙂
So true. They go from confusion to being dumped in a cage, in most cases abandoned, surrounded by barking and crying dogs, to arms reaching out to them in hopes. Good hearts bringing them back to safety. Their ultimate resilience is amazing. They are my teachers in how well they adjust. Always happy to share with you. ❤
Best happy post to wake up with, Paulette. We are in awe ❤ Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend and Good Luck Pawkisses to all the doggies and kitties who found and will find a furrever home soon 🙂 ❤ ❤ ❤
Aww, so sweet. I can feel the wind moving from all the wagging tails that hear you good wishes that they find their furever homes. Wouldn’t that be the wonderful, all doggies and kitties warm and loved in safe homes. Wishing you and your granny a weekend filled with more happy moments. Tons of pawkisses right back to ya. ❤

Thought about you today while reading about the rescue of 98 small dogs near our town. https://petrescuereport.com/2017/98-chihuahuas-rescued-hoarder-home-eugene/
Thank you for your tireless work on this issue.
Hi J.B. Thanks for sharing that link. I checked it out. I hope they are taken good care of and land in safe loving homes.
A wonderful number, 771 miracles who went to a life saving home. All the doggies are so cute and or handsome. And congratulations to you, Paulette for being the author among the top 100 selling books in the non-fiction and historical genre. What an honor!
Thank you so much, Yvonne. It is indeed a wonderful number and there are more to come. And yes, a great honor my last book has been doing well. And a big surprise. I feel very fortunate that I’m able to help the dogs. It does my heart a lot of good. It’s a real win-win situation, dogs going to loving homes. Have a good Sunday to your and yours. ❤
Now this is something I like to see first thing on a Monday morning!
We’re now up to 777 and the last dog I just help, named Cookie, is a Choppy lookalike. She’s been on the next blog post when I get a few more dogs. And with my new book coming out any day, I’ve got my fingers crossed for a lot more. It’s really a win-win to help a dog but I wish we could get them all out. Have a great week ya’ll. ❤
Oh, I look forward to seeing Cookie – and you know I am looking forward to the new book!
She doesn’t have the white markings but definitely a Choppy cousin. Stay tuned. And I’m excited to have you read my new book. Should be out any day. I’ll do a post. 🙂
Congratulations Paulette.777 such ab exciting number .It’s wonderful thanks a lot dear lady
It is an exciting number, Lou. I’m so happy to share it with you. I hope you have a terrific week. ❤
Excellent work
Thank you so much, Lou. ❤
If a dog could talk, he/she would tell you how much you mean to them. (with a lick)
Aww, that’s so sweet. I get lots of licks from my two and now I better understand what they’re saving. Thank you so much. I hope you have a great Sunday. ❤
