Although the link above is no longer active, I hope you happen upon this to receive my gratitude, and apology for such a late reply. Paulette

  17. Let me join my voice to so many others in thanking you for deciding to follow Learning from Dogs. Take care, Paul

    • How could I not? Someone once asked me if I had a teacher, a Guru, to which I knee-jerked a reply, “no”, but upon thinking for a moment, I retracted and said, “Yes, my dog, Tazzie.” Never had there been a greater teacher for me, who passed a year ago at 15+, my inspiration for donating profits to animal rescue. Dogs are my teachers, for sure. Love your site.

  18. Thanks for visiting my blog and following! Very kind of you! This book looks very interesting. I like the cover. I like your comment about dogs being your teachers. I wish you the best of luck!

I loved reading your words and please let me know when your book is out. Thank you for your interest in mine. Big cyber hug!

  27. WordsFallFromMyEyes says:

This looks pretty fascinating. I was thinking, first, what a curious name for a blog.

Also re the animal shelter – I drove way, way out of town to deliver my beloved little Oscar (cat) to a shelter that would not kill. Blessings, he found a home.

Those that kill – I mean, a 7 day sentence and then death. I very much favour your cause.

    Merry Christmas! πŸ™‚

    • I know, it’s kinda weird for the persecution…to show up with a doting loving message to strangers about her love of furies. It all started when I was connecting with some writing/author bloggers and found some animal lovers in there. I just couldn’t resist and don’t have another site to visit through, so here I am in all the complexity of a book, animal rescue, a heart that wants to connect in the name of tolerance and hopefully get some sad faces out of cages and into forever homes. Bless you for taking Oscar to the shelter where he’d have a chance at life, and there he found a home. I hope it wasn’t too hard on you to have to let him go. Merry Christmas to you also. πŸ™‚

      • WordsFallFromMyEyes says:

It was hard on me, actually – but worse for my son. I had attempted suicide last year in a very determined fit of desperation, and my son saved my life. When I came out of hospital and my son was taken to foster care and I was alone in the flat, Oscar and me only, I just didn’t know what I was going to do next. I just didn’t know. And I took him all those miles out.

My son, Daniel, said he was his cat too, and how could I, and I just couldn’t explain. I rang once or twice a week to see when he would be rehomed & by whom. I pray to God that it’s true what they told me: a woman who lived alone wanted a cat ‘about 2 years’ and orange and that, and loved his big bushy tail.

It was very difficult, yes. I had asked my sister would she take him but she just never gives straight answers and said she “would see” and “maybe” and I was feeling overwhelmingly desperate. I still feel the emotion in recall.

      • Well bless your sweet heart for sharing this. You had quite the year. I’m glad I read your blog site and have more info to know that you’re doing okay now, thank goodness. Please know that my heart is with you and that our meeting today and connecting is something I am truly grateful for. I hope it helps. I’m going to be holding you in my heart and sending you good thoughts for the rest of the day.

  28. WordsFallFromMyEyes says:

    • And, thank you back for coming here for a visit. I really enjoyed reading your writing, really resonated with me, and I wish you tons of success. My hubby & I have been into dog rescue longer than we’ve been married, over 28 years. We often reflect on this being a strong aspect to the great love and friendship we share, because of this mutual passion. We sure do love our dogs! Happy Holidays to you.

Thank you for visiting and following my blog. I’m an animal lover like you, too πŸ™‚

  33. Thanks for the follow! We have several no kill shelters in the area that I help and support. We also have a wildlife refuge that rescues, rehabilitates and releases injured wild animals that I help every way possible. It is our responsibility to protect the defenseless, provide for the dependent and speak for the voiceless. Good on you! Good luck with the book!

  34. mixedupmeme says:

I an not a writer….definitely not! But I do see something we have in common. I was reading an interview you gave on another web site. Here is part of it:

“Are there any occupational hazards to being a writer? My back hurts when I sit too much and I don’t get up and stretch enough.”

I get that same feeling after writing my wee little blog. 😦
Thanks for stopping by and reading a bit of it.

    • Hey Mixedupmeme (love that moniker πŸ™‚ ). Of all the things you could quote from me that may be the best yet! I’m smiling so wide my cheeks are extending from California to New York. And, about your writing disclaimer…go see what I posted on your site. I’m sorry, friend, but I am a fan! πŸ™‚

  35. snappy~speak says:

Thanks for following me Paulette, nice to meet you! I returned the favor. πŸ™‚
    Merry Christmas!

  36. livvy1234 says:

Thank you for the good work you are doing for the animals. I am doing this for 7 years – getting political for our homeless pets. The killing of millions of dogs and cats in the USA is a sign of a seriously sick society. We are drunk, and enabling this insanity to continue, because everyone is locked up in their ego…the I, the me, and the my.

  37. Ray's Mom says:

Thank you for the “follow” of Justice for Raymond. You have a very interesting blog. Merry Christmas

Nice blog friend! Thanks for following “Known is a drop, Unknown is an Ocean”. πŸ™‚

    • So happy to see you here, Ganesh. There’s so much wisdom in “Known is a drop, Unknown is an Ocean” and I’m really happy I found you. So many times, when I question myself, I wonder about the drop…

      • Ganesh says:

Thank you very much your kind words. Reminds me the Rumi’s quote, “We are not a drop in the Ocean, we are the entire Ocean in a drop.” πŸ™‚

      • Yes, and it is no wonder that Rumi is the best selling poet in the U.S. My favorite Rumi quote and I paraphrase, “When the vastness that I am, and the humaness that I am meld…then I am whole.” A lot of new age spiritual folk, wonderful people, seem to not incorporate the “human” element into their words. But hey, what do I know? πŸ™‚
