Week 4 and I’m happy at last

What a difference a few weeks have made.
Yes! ❤
❤ She looks so happy!
Thank you, Ruth. She finally came around and is manifesting her wonderful, yet-full-of-life authentic self. Just this morning when I let all three out to do their stuff, she came back scratching on the door to be let in for her food. And it wasn’t a wimpy old lady scratch, it was hefty and full of life. ❤
I feel love lots and lots of love!
You know, p, I think she does as well, and not just from us. It’s taken a lot longer with her than any other dog we’ve taken in to come out of a slump. Perhaps it’s because she’s older? Perhaps that’s the degree of heartbreak she felt being abandoned? I can’t be sure but there’s been an enormous outpouring for her to begin with from the kill shelter posting a video to adopt her (or all things – with over 200 kennels they featured this one!), to a whole lot of good people networking on social media to draw attention, to all the love and outpouring since she came here. If anyone/anything is capable of feeling and responding to love, it’s a dog. ❤
I wholeheartedly agree it you. The heave a BIG heart. Love you as well Paulette for the having the BIGGEST heart, Mother Teresa of Dogs. ❤
❤
What a super girl….congratulations to you bothj
She really is a super girl, Helen. She’s been a great teacher for all of us here. We “thought” we brought her home to die peacefully. Her lack of appetite reinforced that. That was until the pizza and burritos, and Terry and I turned into her own private chefs. The thank you back from her as been immense. ❤
I love this whole story. Max and Bella are lucky to have her. And she is lucky to have you, angel to animals ❤
I love her story also, Alison. I just commented back to someone else that she’s been an amazing teacher for us. We’re very grateful it’s all worked out so well. This sweet girl is so worth it. ❤
Yay!!! Thanks for the update!
Yay!!! And Yah again!!! Very relieved that so far the update is a good one. ❤
Woooohoooowooooooooooooooo! 😀
You can howl that again! And speaking of howling, we didn’t hear a peep out of Lady for the first two weeks. “Oh, she’s so nice and quiet,” we said to each other, “a lovely change from our other very vocal Max that has to be heard above everyone/everything else” That didn’t last, three days ago we heard a new and very loud bark at the window. It was Lady who saw someone walking by on the street in front of the house. When she first came her she sadly looked out that window and I wondered if she was looking for her people (the family she was with), now there’s no doubt she’s protecting her new family. To quote Lady, “Life is good.” ❤
Aww, so cute ❤
Thank you, Uncle Christoph! I only wish we lived closer so I could meet the pups. Afterall, I am mostly lab and like to doodle around. ❤
On that lounge sofa… YES! Life is good! 😅
That was a first, Koji. She may have gotten up there before but that’s the first we’ve seen which motivated me to wipe the cobwebs off my camera and take the photos here. She just had a bath and was out lounging in the warmth of the day. She really does bring home the point to us that life is precious and yes, life is good. ❤
So pretty! 🙂
Aww, thank you so much. Every day, her beauty shines brighter and brighter. It’s probably from all the love her new friends, near and far, are sending. Like you! ❤
One big happy family! A feel good update!
Thankfully it is a good update. Very grateful for that and every day we have with this sweetheart. But then it’s really true for all of us, life’s precious. So happy to share this with you. ❤
The same one you rescued?
Yes, Rajiv. We thought she was on her way out when she refused to eat, even braunschweiger which has always been our ace in the hole when a dog doesn’t want to eat. Thank goodness a little persevering desperation and sales on pizza prompted us to try that. Bingo! Pizza and burritos did the trick. We’ve now expanded to hot dogs, rice and beans, and an assortment. Needless to say, she’s come alive and is begging for her meals. Yup, to quote Lady, “Life is good.” ❤
She looks happy! ❤
Finally I can say, she sure does! That tinge of sorrow seems to be gone from her eyes and boy what that’s done for our hearts is monumental. She’s an ever changing miracle girl, Colleen, and we’re so lucky she’s graced our lives. ❤
I bet she says the very same thing. 🙂
❤
Evidence of Paulette and Terry’s magic touch and loving care at work. I salute you both for the givers that you are! JJ
Aww, that’s so sweet of your, your kind words. I don’t know we even had any choice in this one. The minute we saw the original video of her, we were puppets of love. Thank goodness that it’s working out and she’s enjoying her senior years, at last. She’s a sweetheart and deserves that. Big cyber hugs to you, Marianne, and your fur babies. ❤
❤ ❤ ❤ I just have to come back and give you plenty of hearts.
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ right back at ya! Lady Luck Love!!!
Blessed creature: happy and secure at last – thanks to you!
Yes, she his blessed and a blessing. So happy you stopped by mrpipponders to share in the doggie love. ❤
Paulette, it is so true that a picture tells a thousand words, Your new family member is looking and acting good. Enjoying life and being a star. Thank you so much for the update and great pictures. Take care, Bill
It’s my absolute pleasure to share this, Bill. Thank goodness she’s doing this well that it’s a happy sharing. And I really feel that all the outpouring of love from friends, near and far (like you), have been felt by this sweet girl, Lady. Sending love right back to you and hope your days are filled with more gifts like what you mentioned in your post yesterday. ❤
She looks so happy. Content. Glad she gets along with the others. You are a good mom.
She’s really come along nicely and yes it’s a big relief all three get along. She’s quite the dog though, has a strong sense of assertiveness and boundaries which I think they pick up on. Every day as she continues to change and shine brighter, they change with her. It’s been quite the thing to experience their dynamics together. Last couple of days, she started to play back with them, particularly Max. It’s been fascinating how it’s all evolved. ❤
Yay!!! 😀
Yah!!! Yah!!! right back at ya and thanks tons for the support & stopping by. ❤
lol most welcome, Paulette.
🙂
Doggie Heaven! Happy to hear good news. LL looks…shall I say lovely? As in stunning and happy as well. ❤ ❤ ❤
Doggie heaven says it nicely, Tess. And thank goodness for that, lol. We had no idea how they’d all get along and trust me we had some nerves exposed about that but thankfully every day gets better and better for Lady and between them. She told me to thank you for the sweet compliment and sends you a very special wag. ❤
It warms my heart LL is happy is her health is good.
❤ ❤ ❤
❤
I love a story with a happy ending. Gorgeous pics, Paulette. 🙂
Thank you so much! A real blessing as she’s such a sweet and deserving dog. ❤

Saving Lives. Save a life be it an ant, a spider, a plant, a dog. It’s good for them and best of all it’s good for you.
Lady sends you a very special cyber wag & lick and hopes that maybe it’ll help another dog/cat/animal be helped somewhere. Life is precious! ❤
My pleasure, Lady from one Lady to another. No kidding, that is my nickname. ❤
Oh wow, now I’m wagging as hard as I can. Especially for you! ❤

What a gift to have you happen upon our beautiful Lady, Max & Bella and to share this at your amazing site is such an honor. Thank you so much for taking the time. So happy I visited yours, which is so inspirational. ❤
My pleasure!

Every time I visit your blog, I come away refreshed, full of joy and hope!!!
Every time I read your comments, I feel the same. You’re a sweetheart and gift in my cyber life. Our journey with Lady typifies joy and hope. Grateful for the experience with her. And our other two fur babies. ❤
Hi Paulette, I am so sorry that I’ve been absent on your blog for long time. I nearly finish my reading the electronic copy of your book you have given to me. It is so priceless. Thank you again. Hope you are always in good health.
Hi my friend. That’s so sweet of you to say this but honestly no apology is ever needed if you don’t stop by for a visit. We all have our lives and activities and can only do so much in one day. That we’ve connected and I see your lovely photography when I can is satisfying enough. And also thank you for letting me you you started the book. Hope you enjoy the rest. Happy day to you. ❤
Thank you my dear friend. Happy day to you too. ❤
❤
So pleased for her xxx
Thank you so much, Misaki. Thankfully it’s working out and she’s having great quality in her senior days. wag wag ❤
So adorable! They all look extremely happy and content. Bless you!
Thank you cdogs5! So nice to have you drop by. I clicked on your link but it said “classicamonth.wordpress.com is no longer available”. If you have an active site/link, please feel free to post it here and I’ll drop on by. Love your photo and moniker. wag wag. ❤
P.S. They are a happy bunch! Thank you.
Marvelous post.Best regards.JMS
Thank you so much, JMS. We always feel your positive loving energy over here. ❤
What a difference in her! She is so much loved, and she knows it; that’s all any of us need.
Hi Barb. She’s surprised us and everyone who’s met her, who thought she was on transitions door. Now she’s literally at the door barking at footsteps in the street, protecting her new and forever home sweet home. She’s a gem, an every changing evolving bright light. So very happy you saw these. Hugs to you and your gang. ❤
I am just now getting involved in your blog, and honestly don’t know everything. But what is obvious you and I have a Love for animals, and rescue those who truly need rescuing. Bless you! All of our cats are rescues, some at the time of rescue near death. All came to us and all to this day are considered our family. I am following you, for you have my Heart. Thank you from the bottom of mine, for I know the emotional cost, the physical cost, the monetary cost. (((HUGS))) Amy
Beatiful, Amy. Thank you. I just visited your site and clicked on some of the posts to come across the magnificent photo of your Max showing you/sharing with you the beauty of unconditional love. I’m always so happy to connect with another animal loving friend. Thank you for rescuing your fur babies, especially the ones really in need. You are an angel. Many warm cyber hugs back to you from all of us here. ❤
From one Angel to another. (smile) Yes, Maxxy is my teddy bear. And boy does he know how to LOVE. He even bats his eyes at me and flirts with me to get his own way and yes he gets his own way. Usually. LOL You have NO idea how it warms MY Heart to know YOU and know that there is someone walking my shoes whose Heart is for the animals. Many many Blessings to you, my friend!!!! LOVE, Amy
❤
Oh Paulette! How this makes my heart sing for joy and I can tell you, my praises reach beyond eternity! I desperately needed a message of hope and renewal, and here is Lady…..oh joyful joyful!
Wow, what a great communication to start my day. And if there’s a cyber friend I’d love to see happy, it’s you! I think you and Lady would fall in love with each other, you’re both sweethearts. Have a great week and know that Lady feels your love and returns it right back to you. ❤
You did good Paulette. We can’t save the world, but you saved the world for one abandoned, heartbroken animal. You are my hero. I know Lady feels the same.
❤
We are thrilled that Lady has settled in and is enjoying life-here’s to many days of joy and discovery for all of you!
Aww, thank you so much! We’re all thrilled right along with you. Didn’t envision when she arrived to her new home here with us 4 weeks ago that she’d turn a corner and come back to life. She’s become a strong part of the family, protecting her new home, standing at attention for food, coming to our side when resting, and of all things playing with our other two and I mean playing, even though for brief spurts. I know she feels your love littledogslaughed. ❤
Paulette, I am thrilled beyond words that your new dog is doing so well. Her story and will to live coupled with your faith and persistence has brought her to this happy time in her life. May she continue to do well. She is an inspiration to never give up.
~yvonne
She is indeed an inspiration never to give up, and honestly has surprised us all. Her whole demeanor has changed and it seems as if she is now fully settled in and home with us. You’re also so right that her will to live is strong and I believe that above all else is what has sustained her from the cold shelter pad to our warm home melding with our two other and a new strange environment. It’s a blessing to have her in our lives for all we’re seeing, learning, and receiving from her. Thank you again for your support, Yvonne. ❤ p.s. her new nickname is petunia because she's eating like a little piglet, well maybe not so little.
I’ve often wondered if the right addition of a new fur member of the family would help my Zoey adjust a bit, but am not sure if I want to risk it. I’m glad your puppies all seem to be getting along though.
We’re really glad and relieved they’re all getting along as well but then I’m the alpha over here and set the ground rules. Even if we needed to separate them, which could have happened if they picked on her, we would have worked it out for the safety of all because no one claimed Lady and we just couldn’t sit by and watch her be put down. But, and this is a really big but, some dogs do not do well with other dogs around and bringing in another dog might not work. If you’re ever serious about it and want to do it, interfacing with a trainer, someone who is very familiar with bringing new dogs together could easily help you to determine if it would be right for Zoey and if so which dog would be the best fit. Doing this in a neutral place and then indoctrinating them both back into your environment is the way to go. For now please give Zoey (love that name) a sweet pat from us and wag from the rest of the gang. ❤
Great photo’s and she looks so happy
Thanks so much, Lou. She is happy, at last. And we’re thrilled about it. ❤
It’s good to be able to follow how well she’s doing.
Thank you so much, And thankfully she’s been having good days. A blessing. ❤
I’m so pleased that Lady has relaxed and settled in with you. May she have many happy days!
Aww, Clowie, she wags a big one to you that she feels your support and is sure that’s helped her. Thankfully, she is doing better than expected. We’re with you on hoping she has many more happy days. Thank you! ❤
Life is indeed very good when you have the security of a kind home you never have to leave.
That’s so true, Sheri. ❤
What a difference a day makes! Three happy members of the family and you make 4.
Thank you so much for your very nice comment. Always happy to have you stop by. Hope you have a happy father’s day! ❤
Ain’t she sweet? It’s like seeing the new kid on the playground.
She is sooooo sweet and very happy. Really coming into her own. I’m sure she is feeling your love as we speak and sending you a special wag. ❤
She is certainly fitting in well–what a sweetie! And I’m sure soooooo happy. I was struck by how much she looks like my Toby.
Bless you, Sage, and your bipeds, for having such big wonderful hearts. And to your special angel, Toby, who’s watching over you, I went to the trouble to steal a link from you so others can see the similarity as well. Toby and Lady could have been sisters, and hey who knows… RIP Toby. http://sagechronicles.wordpress.com/my-angels/toby/
Love to you and your family, Sage. ❤ Lady and her new furever family
I feel like we gain so much from our furry friends. Toby had a tough beginning, but turned put to be a wonderful dog. He taught Sage so much. I know Lady is so fortunate to have a loving home to live out her life.
We sure do gain from our furry friends. ❤
Happy Independence Day to you all!
Thanks, Clowie. Happy day is wished back to you and your great bipeds. wag wag ❤
Happy 4th! 🙂
Aww, thanks Kev. The very same to you and your family. Hope ya’ll are enjoying the day. 🙂
Thanks Paulette! 🙂
🙂
They all look so relaxed together – what a great outcome!
Very thankfully it did turn out to be a great outcome. Being that they’re all rescues from kill shelters and we don’t know all their histories, plus the two younger ones (Max & Bella) are very bonded best buds so we didn’t know how it’d turn out. It’s been better than expected and Lady continues to thrive, and eat like a little piglet. Have a great day to you and yours. ❤
Really very gorgeous!
Aww, thank you, HH. And a big cyber hug to you from all of us. wag wag
❤
❤
Paulette, I looked for a contact page but didn’t find one. I have a friend putting together an anthology of true slice-of-life short stories for an anthology. He’s looking for a few additional authors. If you are interested, could you please e-mail me at sheri@sheridegrom.com. TX, Sheri
I’ll e-mail you so you have my e-mail address if you ever need it to contact me. Not sure how to set up the contact with wp.
Awww they’re all so gorgeous and do you smell good Lady 🙂 Pawkisses to all of you 🙂 ❤
Aww, wag wag and thanks for the pawkisses. We wuv ’em pawkisses and send some right back to you. Max, Bella, & Lady
Soooo sorry I have been away so long! What a joy to see how well they are doing! Sweet animal love – pure, unconditional, and innocent; nothing better. I am sending you all my love your way!
No apology is needed. Us cyber friends are bonded and in each other’s hearts. Words are not necessary. The good will continues with much gratitude. So true that there’s nothing better than the unconditional love animals forever teach us about. Sending love right back to you from all of us. ❤
All the dogs looks so happy finding someone to love them.Well done Paulette
Thank you. They know they’ve been helped and are loved. And they respond so beautifully to that with amazing resilience. I just love seeing the before and after reactions. Have a great weekend my friend. ❤
